3 friends, 1 Facebook Page and 1 vision, this is how one of
the most popular news providing app “In Shorts” born. The three brain child
Azhar Iqubal, Deepit Purkayastha and Anunay Arbav who were in their last
semester of IIT Delhi decided to start a Facebook page with the vision of
sharing news in the shorter format.
Very soon after creating the Facebook page , it start gaining
popular on the Facebook and reached the milestone of 1,00,000 Page like.
But it was difficult to sustain with just a Facebook page.
So they decided to create a App which named “In Shorts”. The App comes up with
the idea presenting the news in just 60 words. And this common but very much
interesting idea changed the life of all these 3 masterminds behind the
In an interview, Azhar said that it took them only 3 days to
execute their idea into a company and within a month “In Shorts” App downloaded
by more than 10,000 times.
Looking the response from they users they created the Hindi
version of the app. Within a year These 3 entrepreneurs enter in to the Forbes entrepreneur
list “30 Under 30 List” and bagged the award for the Best Innovation App by the
Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI).
By the end of 2018, Ecommerce giant Flipkart shows the
interest in this app and they funded around $4 million. At the same time one another investor Tiger
Global invested $ 20 Million in the “In Shorts”.
At the moment, In Shorts app has more than 5 million
download and app publishing around 200 stories every day.
This is one of the most inspiring stories for the students
who are pursuing their school or colleges. They can learn from the story that
how and in which field you can start your part time carrier from the starting.
